Are you an "average" person in this world?

Somebody on the QnA asked a question if the USA will ever be a 3rd world country.  That got me to thinkin' about this allegory I heard from Brett Meador.  So, if you think you are "average" in this world, I'm pretty sure you are mistaken if you can read this post...

Just to be average in this world, this is what you'll have to do: take out all the furniture in your house, except for a table and a couple of chairs... use blankets and pads for beds... take away all of your clothing, except for your oldest dress (ladies) or your oldest shirt and shorts (guys) and only 1 pair of shoes.... empty your pantry except for some sugar, salt, flour a few potatoes... dismantle the bathroom. Shut off the running water. Remove all of the electrical wiring in your house. Take away the house itself, and move your family into the tool shed... then take your shed, and place it in a shanty town full of other sheds. Cancel your magazine and newspaper subscriptions-- this is moot because you won't be able to read anyway. Leave only 1 radio for the whole town... move the nearest hospital or clinic 10 miles away, and leave a poorly trained person in charge. Throw away all your stock, insurance, pension plans, etc. And leave the family a cash hoard of $10. Give the head of the family a an acre of land to cultivate, and give 1/3 of the profits to the landlord, and 1/10 of it to the money lenders. Lop off 25 years of your life expectancy (if you are to be average.)

So, if you can read this post, then you are in the upper crest... we are the rich.... the USA will never be like that unless something major happens (something so inconceivable to me.)  People need to realize that we've got it pretty darn good over here, so we need to be responsible with what we do and how we do it, in a global leadership role.
